As a Birth Photographer, and Fertility Coach my passion lies deep down in the soul of life. I love helping to create it, and I love watching life develop and be brought into this world. It’s amazing how much everything becomes apart of my heart, and a piece of me with each photograph I take. My husband and I struggled for years to conceive, it wasn’t an easy process and my heart shattered a few times. During our roller coaster of emotions, we endured two heartbreaking losses, which devastated us, and caused emotions I never knew I had. In those two years I met amazing women along the way, helped a lot of couples conceive, and now it’s my full time job and passion.
I brought my passion to life in the art of photography. The way life is captivated in a frame is beautiful, especially when it’s a new mother, new infant, or watching a little one be born. My children, which I have been blessed with where all born via cesarean section. My first pregnancy, I was a young teenage mom and unfortunately during pregnancy had complications. My oldest son was born emergency cesarean section. Our second son, everything was perfect with. Our pregnancy was perfect and my body was doing exactly what it needed to do to prepare for birth. Although my obstetrician wasn’t on board with me delivering VBAC. I wanted to, and honestly didn’t know my rights. I, at the time, was told that it wasn’t possible. When it really was. Needless to say my second son was born cesarean section.
Our third son, which was our rainbow baby. It was a rough start in the beginning, and was great towards the end. Again my body did everything it needed to do to prepare for birth, and yet again my right was taken from me. I knew I could do a VBAC, but I was denied. For years I believed that it wasn’t possible, that ‘once a cesarean section, always a cesarean section‘, when that isn’t the case! Ladies, Mom to Be’s you have rights! Which is why I am a photographer for The VBAC Project.
I discovered The VBAC Project right when she opened it. A VBAC is a Vaginal Birth After Cesarean, which yes CAN be done. It’s a right, it’s a choice we as women have. My right was taken because I believed it wasn’t MY own right to advocate how I wanted to birth my own child. While I understand that some women may feel more comfortable with a repeat cesarean, which is completely okay! I am not here to say it’s wrong, I am just here to advocate and tell you it’s okay for a VBAC if you want.
In September, around the first (Labor Day) is when a lot of us rally to bring awareness to VBAC’s. This is when photographers (such as myself) gather around holding mini sessions of Mom’s who have had successful VBAC’s. These sessions are FREE (details are provided for inquires). However, throughout the year I will be asking and offering these sessions for this specific project, if you wish to email me at info@tinybearphotography.com we can discuss details and what’s required. I will also be advocating for Cesarean Awareness Month which is in April, again sessions are FREE. Now for VBAC Births, because I am so beyond passionate about Birth, and life, that I am offering VBAC Birth Sessions at a 30% discount (even if my prices change, this offer is still in good standing). There will be information and a separate contract aside from my own for this project that will need to be discussed, looked over and signed.
Thank you so much,
Amanda
